Who We AreWhat is the Thrive Intern & Leadership Program?
Thr!ve Intern and Leadership Program is a summer internship program designed to provide African American students with employment opportunities to gain valuable professional experience in a variety of career fields. Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, III’s vision is to prepare these students to become future leaders of tomorrow.
Through leadership workshops, one-on-one mentoring and professional development interns will be equipped with sustainable skills needed to become successful individuals in the community. Data has proven that regardless of socio-economic classification, African American youth are disproportionately at risk throughout life from early childhood to adulthood. Our goal is to close the economic gap for these students by exposing them to meaningful career related experiences in fields such as technology, law, business, healthcare, education, government and the nonprofit sector. The program launched in the Summer of 2014 and partners with corporations, small businesses and non-profits throughout the Dallas area. Our partners are committed to our mission and are making an impact in the community by unlocking and developing the potential that these young people have as they prepare for college and the workforce. MissionTHR!VE is a program and initiative of Faith Formula Human Services. Faith Formula is a non-profit organization whose mission is to eradicate the underlying causes of poverty in individuals, families, and communities. Our innovative strategic programs transform and empower the lives of the people we serve. Our mission, while simple and focused, is built upon teaching, healing, nurturing, and building.
